Time for change

(Me at my heaviest)

Well I suppose as this is my first post I should introduce myself. I'm Emily, I'm 26 years old. I have 2 sons Joseph who is 4 and Michael who is 2 I'm also Married. I have been unemployed for 3 years after getting told I needed to give up work as I had m.e. and Fibromyalgia which I got after Joseph's traumatic birth. But I'm not here to tell you a sob story, I'm hoping this is going to be a story of success!

I put on most of my weight whilst pregnant with Joseph, 3 stone to be exact and this was mainly down to not really eating right and my gestational diabetes not being picked up till 2 days before giving birth. After I had Joseph I lost some weight but put it all back on and more when I was carrying Michael. When Michael was born I was at my heaviest I have ever been 85kg and just before Christmas 2011 had I finally had enough and I decided I was going to lose this weight once and for all, so I went to the weight loss nurse. Since seeing the weight loss nurse my weight as of today is 80kg and my target weight is 57kg so I will then be comfortably within a healthy bmi range. Currently I am avoiding bread, eating off a small plate which i divide into 3 half being veg one quarter being protein and the other quarter being carb. I've increased my walking as well as my form of exercise.
On Tuesday I am planning to join my local Slimming World group for extra support so I will let you know how that goes. The aim of my blog is to get my story out, my triumphs and also my downfalls. I don't plan to lie if I have a blip you will be told. I'm hoping my story will help others by giving ideas people may not have tried or just so they know losing weight isn't easy going and we all have the odd blip. I also don't mind people contacting me if they want some help.
